Power of attorney

A power of attorney lets someone act on your behalf — to sell or buy property, register a company, deal with a bank or represent you before an authority. To be valid, it must be correctly drafted, signed before a notary and, for use abroad, apostilled or legalized.

We help you prepare the power of attorney in Georgian and, if needed, in a second language side by side, arrange the notary appointment with an interpreter, and complete the apostille or legalization and certified translation.

If you are abroad and need a power of attorney for use in Georgia, our international offices can arrange signature before a local notary, the apostille and the Georgian translation, so the document is ready to be used here.

Typical uses

Frequently asked questions

Can I sign a power of attorney for Georgia while I am abroad?

Yes. It can be signed before a notary in your country, apostilled or legalized, and then translated into Georgian. We coordinate the whole process.

Can a power of attorney be bilingual?

Yes, and it is often the best option: the Georgian and foreign texts are placed side by side, which simplifies use in both countries.

How long is a power of attorney valid?

It depends on what is written in it and on the rules of the receiving institution. Some banks and authorities only accept recently issued powers of attorney.
